2020 Scholarships

On May 27, 2020 six graduating seniors from Holy Trinity in Azle were presented with a scholarship.  Each of these young people excel in academics, athletics, band and other extracurricular activities at their schools and also are active in their church community.  Each of these young people are involved in ministry or ministries at Holy Trinity and set a wonderful example for their peers, the youngest and oldest of our church community.

The Women’s Guild presented Jilleighan Boivin with a scholarship.  Jilleighan is a lead altar server, Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Confirmation retreat team, she participated in Stations of the Cross, works with Garden on the Go, has volunteered at various Men’s Club events, worked at the church festivals, assisted as a CCD aide, Children’s Liturgy and with VBS. Jilleighan plans on attending Texas Tech University in the fall.

Four scholarships were awarded by the Holy Trinity Men’s Club.

Noah Carlson: Noah serves as a Eucharistic Minister, assisted the Men’s Club with various activities, participated in Stations of the Cross, volunteered with CCD, VBS and worked as Mrs. Nicole’s administrative assistant. Noah will be attending SMU in the fall.

Joseph Herlin:  Joseph is a lead altar server who also trained and coordinated the altar servers and lectors on Wednesday nights.   He has worked as a CCD aide, assisted with VBS and Confirmation retreats. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Visionary Team, participated in Stations of the Cross, worked the church festivals and serves as a lector and Eucharist Minister. Joseph plans to attend Trinity University in the fall.

Galilea Porras:  Galilea has assisted with CCD, VBS, Stations of the Cross, the church festivals, Confirmation retreats and Children’s Liturgy.  She has helped to lead the rosary, worked as a translator, attended and worked the Ecuadorian Mission Trip and serves as a Eucharistic Minister.  Galilea plans to attend the University of Texas in Arlington in the fall.

Anthony Trejo:  Anthony has been a CCD aide, assisted the Men’s Club with various activities to include Mother’s Day breakfast, Fish Fries, Italian dinners and festival clean up.  He assisted with Confirmation retreats and testimonial talks. He currently serves as a lead usher for our 11am mass. Anthony plans on attending Tarleton State in the fall.

Martha Guzman, a member of the Holy Trinity Spanish Prayer Group presented a scholarship to Stephanie Benavides.  Stephanie has been a CCD aide, works with Children’s liturgy, leads the rosary, works at various church functions such as the Posada and church festivals and serves as a lector.  Stephanie has been accepted to TCU, Baylor University, the University of Houston & SMU.  She will be attending TCU.

After the presentations Fr. Wilson  provided a blessing for the students.
