Rev. Wilson Lucka
I was born as the 6th child of my parents on June 7th 1974 in Kerala, the southern State of India. I belonged to a TOR (Third Order Regular of St. Francis of Assisi) Parish, namely, Our Lady of Fathima Church, Kayyunni where until joining the TOR Seminary I was an Altar boy. I have two brothers and five sisters – one of which is a religious nun. I lost my mother on January 13th 2011 and my father lives with my older brother in the ancestral home.
After my High school at the age of 15, I realized my call to religious life and priesthood and joined the TOR Franciscan Minor Seminary in Kerala. Four years of my Minor Seminary formation were spent in different parts of South and North India and made my first Religious Profession on May 31st 1993. After the First Profession I was sent to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and History and Licentiate in philosophy. I completed my Post Graduate Degree in Theology and was ordained a Decon in June 2001. After a year of Diaconate ministry in the Mission I was ordained a priest at mhy home parish on May 22nd 2002 by late Bishop of Mananthavady, Immanuel P.
After the Ordination, my first first assignment was to teach TOR Seminarians before I was sent for a Masters Degree in Education. As a priest for the last 17 years I worked as a Rector of Seminary, Principal of few schools in different parts of India, and as the Vicar Provincial for my Province. I came to the United States in August 2018 and was assigned Parochial Vicar of St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Carrollton. and the journey with the Lord continues as the first Pastor of our Parish.
